Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Reviews by MGS (the "Service"), operated by MGS Hosting based in Riga, Latvia ("we", "us"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Account responsibilities

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized access. You must provide accurate information when registering.

2. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Submit reviews you know to be false, fraudulent, or misleading.
• Use the Service to harass, threaten, or defame any person or business.
• Submit content that infringes copyright, trademarks, or other intellectual property.
• Attempt to manipulate ratings through fake accounts, bots, or paid review schemes.
• Reverse-engineer, scrape, or abuse the Service or our APIs beyond reasonable limits.
• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose under applicable EU or local law.

3. Reviews

Authenticity

All reviews must reflect a genuine experience. Businesses cannot offer compensation in exchange for positive reviews, and reviewers cannot accept compensation for posting reviews without disclosure.

Moderation

We screen reviews for spam, abuse, off-topic content, and policy violations. We may hold, remove, or refuse to publish reviews that violate these Terms. Where reviews are removed due to a business request or owner action, we display a clear marker on the public profile.

Responses

Business owners may respond publicly to reviews on their claimed profile. Responses must comply with the same acceptable use rules as reviews.

Removal & disputes

Businesses cannot pay to remove negative reviews. If you believe a review violates these Terms, use the report mechanism on the review card. We investigate reports in line with our published moderation policy.

4. Business profiles & claims

Profiles may be auto-discovered (created from public website information) or claimed by their owners. To claim a profile, you must verify ownership using an email address whose domain matches the business website's domain. Free email providers cannot be used for claims. We reserve the right to revoke claims that we determine to be fraudulent.

5. Subscriptions & billing

Paid plans (Pro, Business) renew automatically until cancelled. Payments are processed by Paddle, our merchant of record, who handles taxes and refunds. You can cancel from your dashboard at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy. We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice via email and an in-product notice.

6. Content & intellectual property

You retain ownership of the reviews and content you submit. By submitting content, you grant Reviews by MGS a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display, distribute, and adapt that content as necessary to operate the Service, including syndication via embeddable widgets.

All Service software, design, and platform-generated content (e.g. moderation labels, verification badges) remain our property.

7. Termination

You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with or without notice depending on severity. On termination, your reviews may remain on the Service in anonymized form to preserve the integrity of the public record.

8. Disclaimers & liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability for any claim arising out of these Terms is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or €100, whichever is greater.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Latvia and the European Union. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Riga, Latvia, except where applicable consumer-protection law grants you rights to local jurisdiction.

10. Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-product notice at least 30 days in advance. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
